When AJ walked across the stage at her high school graduation in 2025, she felt a mix of pride and uncertainty. Graduation marked not just the end of school, but the beginning of her journey into adulthood, and APSI has been there to support her as she navigates that transition.
AJ can be reserved when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, her warmth, energy, and compassion shine through. She cares deeply about others, although she often keeps her emotions close to her heart when facing challenges.
Outside of her academic pursuits, AJ is a person of diverse interests. A former high school soccer player, she remains active and is now exploring softball. She enjoys spending time at the park, getting her nails done, and staying up-to-date with the latest fashion trends. While she's not currently in a formal program, she's considering group day options that align with her interests.
Change hasn't always been easy for AJ. However, with time and effort, she has learned to adapt to new people and environments. APSI has been instrumental in this growth, helping her understand her rights, develop decision-making skills, and build the confidence to speak up for herself.
Her support coordinator, Brittany, has been a constant source of encouragement. With Brittany's guidance, AJ has begun to take more risks, try new experiences, and advocate for herself, steps that once felt overwhelming.
Graduating from high school was one of AJ's proudest moments, a milestone that symbolized more than just academic achievement. It marked her significant personal growth, growing independence, and self-confidence. Today, she continues to build a life that reflects who she is, supported by people who believe in her every step of the way.
