Jason has many passions, each woven together by his love for history, storytelling, and community. Whether performing on stage, researching forgotten figures for his YouTube channel, or writing about the past, his curiosity and dedication shine through.
Recently, Jason completed writing History of Edwin Shaw, a deep dive into the story of Springfield Lake Sanitorium. Though he's still in the editing phase, he's actively searching for a publisher to bring his work to a wider audience. His passion for history extends beyond the page—his YouTube channel, Exploring with Jason, has become a dedicated project where he shares the untold stories of local history, true crime cases, Medal of Honor recipients, presidents, and even cemeteries. What started as a casual endeavor has grown into something meaningful, with Jason spending 2024 fully investing his time in growing his audience and refining his content.
But history isn't Jason's only passion. He is an active member of the community theatre scene in Cuyahoga Falls alongside APSI Protective Services Representative Susan Rusinoff. He has portrayed a nobleman and King Richard in Sleeping Beauty and the Z's and a reporter in Charlotte's Web. With more auditions ahead, Jason is always ready to bring new characters to life. His active involvement in the community theatre scene keeps him engaged in his creative pursuits. Jason's pursuits in theatre are not just a hobby but a source of connection and creativity.
Beyond the stage and screen, Jason is a hands-on learner at his day program, where he takes part in making candles, choir, puzzles, and field trips. He's also an athlete, competing in Special Olympics softball, bowling, bocce, and flag football.
Jason participates in Amazon's affiliate program to support himself, promoting products to earn extra income. Meanwhile, he's looking into online programs to continue his history education, having previously majored in history at Kent State.
Through it all, Jason has had the support of his shared living provider, Dan, who has been instrumental in helping him navigate life's challenges and opportunities. Dan ensures Jason has access to the activities and experiences that enrich his life. This support system has been crucial in Jason's journey, highlighting the importance of community and personal growth in his life.
